The Kaje Sessions: Cherie Lily

The Kaje Sessions presents Cherie Lily. Whilst Andrew W.K.’s wife Cherie Lily was working hard to build up her reputation as a fitness guide to the stars, she came up with the ingenius idea to base her own musical explorations around her breed of houserobics. Whilst her musical videos are bright, bold training sessions, The Kaje feel extremely privileged to have Cherie Lily pull it all in on this acoustic version of “Do Your Thing Girl”.

Where did you record The Kaje Session?

Andrew & I are on tour with Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Show in the World.  We filmed this on stage during sound check in San Antonio, Texas.

What made you choose to use this location?

We filmed it on stage in San Antonio, Texas because it was a beautiful day and a gorgeous outdoor theatre.  We thought it would make for a good acoustic video.  Very wild, wild west!

What is the most unusual live date you have ever played?

The most unusual live performance was a late 3AM performance during SXSW 2010.  The party was sponsored by Taco Bell and some of the drunk fans were throwing bean burritos around like crazy.  It was gross and very unusual.  We still love Taco Bell.

What made you choose “Do Your Thing Girl” for the session?

I decided to play an acoustic version of “Do Your Thing Girl” for The Kaje because I love how epic the chord changes are in the track and felt that out of all my dance tracks, “Do Your Thing Girl” would sound the best acoustic.
